Rupert Grint Chronology: January - March 2002

14 January 2002: The very first image still from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets is released by Warner Brothers. As we now know, the image showed Ron and Harry hiding behind a statue as they watch their enemies Crabbe and Goyle eat some enchanted cupcakes.

19 January 2002: The Golden Satellite Awards were presented on this day and Rupert received recognition for his impressive debut performance in Sorcerer's Stone! The "Special Achievement Award for Outstanding New Talent" award was one of his first ever awards!

20 January 2002: Rupert's first non-Potter role is announced by CBBC Newsound!

"Rupert's new film: Thunderpants!" CBBC Newsround

The actor who played Harry's best friend Ron Weasley is to play a boy genius in his latest new film.

In Thunderpants Rupert comes to the aid of a friend who just can't stop - ahem - breaking wind!

Grint's clever character designs a pair of trousers which mean the boy, played by newcomer Bruce Cook, can achieve his dream of becoming an astronaut.

February 2002: The Harry Potter cast were nominated for "Best Debut" at the Empire Awards but lost to Orlando Bloom. Both Rupert and Daniel Radcliffe were also nominated by the Online Film and Television Association Awards for "Younger Actor or Actress" category. They lost to Haley Joel Osment.

24 February 2002: Filming continued on Chamber of Secrets and the cast was caught filming some scenes at Kings Cross station!
