Exciting news from The Hollywood Reporter!

Rupert Grint has signed on to star in The Drummer, a biopic about Beach Boys drummer Dennis Wilson. Rupert will play the part of Stan Shapiro, a mailroom intern who becomes close friends with Wilson.

Filming is expected to begin June 15 in Savannah, Georgia and California. The film will be directed by Randall Miller and produced by Miller and Jody Savin. Other actors cast include Aaron Eckhart as Dennis Wilson, Vera Farmiga and Chloe Grace Moretz.

Hollywood.com has a quote from the director where he talks about Rupert's casting: "Rupert's character is the window into Dennis' world. He is the everyman who witnesses the train wreck. Rupert is going to nail it."
