RupertGrint.net Exclusive: Cheetah Chrome talks The Beatles, The Making of The Dead Boys and Much, Much More!

If you are a follower of either our Twitter or Facebook, you might have caught a little event we were hosting today with Cheetah Chrome ahead of tomorrow's CBGB US release.

Cheetah was kind enough to take a little time out between promotions to answer fan questions (as well as some of our own!).

Opening with what got him into music, Cheetah shared:

"When I saw The Beatles first perform on the Ed Sullivan Show that, you know, really inspired me to want to pick up a guitar....I've been influenced by so many people. You name it, Jimmy Page, Al Clemenson, Glen Buxton, The Stooges, Keith Richards - I could name guitarists all day who have influenced me!"

As for how he got the name "Cheetah"?:

"Cheetah was kind of a nickname...I was just going to go with Cheetah [period] and Stiv made me get a last name. I did cross-country for 6 months in high school. I didn't want to be on a team and I figured everyone left you alone if you were out running in the woods. The Chrome part Stiv came up with because he thought it sounded cool!"

And on underrated bands from his era:

"Two of my favourite bands from back then, who I would recommend to anyone, are The Sensational Alex Harvey Band and Cockney Rebel. Those two bands were very unique for the time but their music has stood up and I listen to them, more than anyone, now."

Join us for the full video above, we hope you have as much fun watching as we did making it! Our utmost thanks go out to Cheetah for giving us an incredible insight into the life of one of Punk's undeniable legends.
