International Stand Up to Bullying Day is February 26th– and that’s not just a random fact, it’s a call to arms.

If you’ve ever felt bullied or victimized, the 26th is the day to speak out against bullying and peer pressure. In doing so, we ask you to help others who have suffered the lasting effects of bullying by donating to Beatbullying UK.

Last year, we asked the Grint family which charities they’d like us to support for Rupert’s 21st Birthday project. They named two charities: The Teenage Cancer Trust and Beatbullying UK.

Last year, fans raised £1,445.37 for the Teenage Cancer Trust between August and December. To the staff at RGN, that figure was amazing, but we had some even loftier goals in mind! So for 2010 we decided to do something different– instead of supporting a charity for a few sparse occasions, we’re going to support them all year long!

RupertGrint.Net is supporting Beatbullying UK because it was one of the original charities by the Grint family AND because we want to see a stop to bullying, having dealt with it ourselves in many different capacities.

On International Stand Up to Bullying Day, our campaign will officially launch!

If you’d like to stand up to bullying, here’s the plan:

1) Go on Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, or your blog and tell the world why YOU want to beat bullying. Your reasons can be as specific or as general as you’d like. If you’re on Twitter, use the hashtag #beatbullying

2) Donate to Beatbullying via our Just Giving page. If you’re not from the UK, don’t worry! Just Giving will easily convert your donation from your country’s currency to pounds.

3) Link to our Just Giving fundraiser page, Beatbullying UK or the International Stand Up to Bullying Day website to spread the word! Encourage others to donate to the cause.

Every penny raised will go to Beatbullying, a charity which provides intervention programs, anti-bullying activism start-ups, and individual mentoring to children. So start saving up those pennies and on February 26th, you can donate them to a great cause!
