New York City: Lanaya's Story

Thursday I got to Regis and Kelly at 3 am to be sure I was first in line for standby. I was and long story short, these 3 ladies had an extra ticket for VIP and let me take it. We sat 2nd row right in front of Rupert; during the commerical break they called him over to me and at first I froze. Then I managed to get out "you are my birthday present!" This trip was planned so last minute, and my birthday is Sep. 14, so I figured I would just make this my present.

Anyways, I went to Alexa Chung [show] after to see Dan, then headed straight to the premiere. It was packed! I stayed though, managed to get Rupert's autograph because someone up front at the barricade took my magazine for me and almost got let in to see the movie after explaing to the security that I had spent $700 to be there, and came from Florida. I didn't get to go in, again I lost hope that I would not ever get a pic with Rupert.

Friday my friends and I waited outside the hotel for 9 hours and saw nothing, until 10:45pm that night when I met Tom Felton, who despite how tired he was still stopped and took a pic with me. I went back to my hostel happy.

Saturday I woke up, went back to the hotel to meet up with my friends and we waited it out all day again. The people who worked there were very friendly. Finally, 6:00pm rolls around and we get called over to the exit and there was Rupert about to leave for the aiport! He stopped when we said his name and we weren't sure if we were to go up to him; he got into the car and I thought, "great there went my chance." But he had the car pull closer to us, rolled down the window, and I told him I was at Regis and Kelly and how I spent all that money just to meet him. He said, "Oh yea, I remember, I can't believe it, thanks." He took pics with us and his security was like, "okay, enough" or something to that extent, but Rupert was like, "They're fine."

There were only 4 of us, he could not have been any nicer! He is so sweet, and I am so glad after 9 years that I finally met him. Dreams really do come true; it still doesn't seem like it really happened. He was also the first celebirty I have almost cried over meeting, I was on the verge of tears but held myself together. We also got pics with Tom, Bonnie, and Emma, and the day before with Michael Gambon.
