Sighting in Belfast
The Belfast Telegraph has
an article up this morning chronicling the adventures of the Cherrybomb cast and crew. The group spent some time at the newly reopened Rotterdam Bar dancing and chatting with the locals, and a photo of Rupert and the manager can be seen
here.
The article mentions the "only drama" that night was when Rupert misplaced his jacket (not the one with the goggles!?!? =O). Luckily, however, "the missing jacket had magically reappeared in time for him to pose for pictures with fans before he went home."

We also received an e-mail from RG.net reader Barbs who dropped by the set of Cherrybomb and observed the following scene being filmed:
"...there was definite filming going on! there was a blonde girl with Rupert ( who seemed to be wearing a tracksuit or something, and had his hair slicked back), they just appeared to be chatting, then she got up and walked away, ending the scene!

HBP Merchandise, Trailer Rumors
Some bits and bobs to talk about today:
Penguin Books have unveiled their cover for the HBP coloring book. Check it out here! The Ron promo is not particularly new as it was first seen on this lovely ball of yarn last month. Merchandise for Half-Blood Prince should begin hitting the stores in October! Thanks to Leaky and O Mundo de HP for the news!
Update: Thanks to UHP for letting us know that Gentle Giant has released the final version of the Ron Weasley Quidditch bust! Click here to see it! It is expected to go on sale in February 2009.
Rumors continue to bounce back and forth regarding the trailer for Half-Blood Prince. If these latest reports are to be believed, we can expect to see a trailer sometime late this month or early August. Once WB confirms a release for the trailer, however, we'll update with the facts right away! It really can't be too long now, though...

New Teaser Trailer for HBP with The Dark Knight? (UPDATED 2x!)
Exciting news today as IMAX have confirmed that there will be
"a SHORT, 15 second trailer for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince prior to The Dark Knight."
Warner Brothers have not yet confirmed this to be true, so stay tuned for more information! The Dark Knight opens in theatres July 18, 2008 in the U.S. and July 25th in the U.K.
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be released in theatres worldwide on November 21st 2008.

Update: A new video was posted on Brightcove.tv today from last summer's grand opening of the Harry Potter FAO Schwarz store in New York which Rupert cut the ribbon for. It's a pretty impressive segment as it gives an aerial shot of the crowds and some soundbytes with Rupert! View it at this link or download the avi file.

Update - Official press release for Cherrybomb: The Northen Ireland Screen updated their site today to announce that principal photography for Cherrybomb began this week and it divulges a bit more info about the film's plot:
With their exams over, best friends Malachy and Luke are out to have one hell of a summer. However, the arrival of Michelle, a captivating but troubled beauty, tests their friendship to the limit as she encourages the two boys to carry out increasingly dangerous and illegal deeds in the battle for her affections – with fatal consequences.
Also included in this announcement are some quotes from the directors and more information about the co-stars.

Take Part in the 2008 Birthday Project!
It's that time of year again, when we begin to plan for Rupert's birthday and invite the fans to take part and wish their favorite actor a 'Happy Birthday!'
This years birthday project will consist of three mini projects that - come August - will be put together to form another large, online, interactive birthday card! The three categories are as follows: Songwriting/Singing, Fan Signs, and Mementos. You do not have to participate in all three! Choose whichever project strikes your fancy. :)

HBP Sneak Peeks: USA Today, Empire; A Love Drunk Ron!
Today's editition of
USA Today provides an exclusive first look at the upcoming
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince!
The article, titled "6th Time is the charm for young wizard love," gives details on all the escapades that we can expect to see in the film! Included with the article is this too-awesome-for-words photo of a love-drunk Ron who accidentally eats some choclates laced with a love potion.

Rupert's New Film: Cherrybomb
RG.net can exclusively reveal that Rupert is currently working on a new movie titled
Cherrybomb.
Set in Belfast, the plot is described to be a "a gritty thriller about two teenagers who get into trouble when they both fall for a beautiful new girl in town."
The film is currently in production and filming is expected to end in early August, scheduled for release in 2009. Check out the IMDB page for the film here.
Update: More information regarding the film is beginning to unearth! IMDb has updated to list two possible costars: Kimberely Nixon and Robert Sheehan.
Variety also mentioned Cherrybomb in an article back in February as did the Northern Ireland Screen.
"The film follows teenagers Luke, Malachy and Michelle as they embark on a wild weekend of drink, drugs, shop-lifting and stealing cars. But what starts out as a game turns deadly serious when the three discover that they can’t get off the wild ride they’ve set in motion."
We can't wait!!

Sky Magazine Set Report Teaser
Thanks to the team over at SnitchSeeker for letting us know about a set report teaser recently published in the July issue of Sky Magazine. The columnist, Tim Vincent, reveals that he spoke to Rupert some more about his ice cream van, "which he's started using to drive to and from work." [View the scan!]
All set report teasers for Half-Blood Prince were to be embargoed until the premiere of the teaser trailer. Could that mean we might be seeing something this month!?
