Rumour Control: Rupert Grint in Ski-Jumper Biopic
The Sunday Mail has been spreading news this morning that Rupert has stepped in to replace actor Steve Coogan's place in a biopic film about Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards. Edwards was a ski-jump competitor during the 1988 Winter Olympics.
While it is true that Rupert has received the script for the film, he is not currently attached to this project. Keep in mind that Rupert probably receives plenty of scripts all the time - this one just happened to be found out by the media. It doesn't necessarily mean he will accept the part.
Thank you to SnitchSeeker for the news!

Oh, god, I really hope he turns this one down. Eddie Edwards is notorious in the UK for basically being a well-meaning loser - he came last by a very long margin, if I remember rightly, and his name is now shorthand for a kind of cosy rubbishness at sport that the English are meant to excel at. Rupert should hold out for something with a bit of an edge to it, or risk getting typecast into appearing in those cosy, unambitious, British comedies that no-one goes to see. More roles like Cherrybomb and less like Driving Lessons, please!

I love Rupert and I really do not want to see him playing a looser.Well,I really didn't know who that guy Edward was but if Flora knows, that's ok to me.Rupert, I worship him as a hansome young man and a very talented actor!!! I wish him to get soon the perfect role for him and see him on the cinema screens...(Sorry about my English but I'm neither an english nor an american)
