New Scene Added to HBP!

Many thanks to Snitchseeker for letting us know that a new scene involving The Burrow has been written especially for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

In an interview with the Australian Herald Sun, the film's producer David Barron has said:

"This was brought in because Jo (Rowling) was able throughout the quite lengthy book to keep dropping little snippets of what was happening in the outside world - there'd be people reading newspapers and talking about how somebody's parents had been killed, or somebody had been withdrawn from school because their parents didn't think it was safe.

And we're making aware that that the Muggle world is also experiencing these disasters, but thinks they are disasters rather than the work of Voldemort.

The book is peppered with those moments, but we couldn't do that quite so easily in the film.

So (the extra scene) comes in the middle of the film and it just reminds us the world is no longer a safe place. Even in what would normally be considered the safe haven of the Burrows, nobody's safe.

I think you'll like it. It's quite effective."

Hopefully this will mean even more screen time for Rupert!

Considering that The Burrow is one of the vital settings in HBP and much of DH, I'm guessing that this 'burning down The Burrow' plotline is a total fake!

As I'm sure you remember with the DH book, many of the so-called "plot leaks" were fakes, but they were deleted anyway. Barron makes it seem like the scene will be used to cover the backstory of the deaths mentioned throughout the book, so Burrow burning seems really unlikely!

Just a minute ,I lost it! Tthey 'll burn the burrow down? I don't think so ,in the 7th book burrow has an important role in the beginning at least!

Well i like Rupert ALOT!. and i cant wait to meet him. i hope he does well in his career of acting and stuff like that. i really think the extra scene is a good effect and will help the people who dont read the books have a better understanding for what going on.

Hmmm.. it looks like they've just added in the scene to talk about the numerous deaths and such that are mentioned in a more random fashion in the book, Hopefully, no plot bunnies will be murdered in the making of this scene!

Hopefully this doesn't take away from the book series or ruin any plot bunnies.

But then again, maybe now that the book series is over they can finally do more with the movies to make them...you know, better.

Iloverupert, I am from Greece and I would like to know the name of the magazine you are talking about.
I doubt it’s true though… Why would they come to Greece for filming? England is where Harry Potter is supposed to be… Anyway, pleeeeease tell me!!!

I hadn't buy this magazine and my friends brougt it to the school.
the headline was " Harry Potter and his company are going to come to Greece"
but I don't read more details.
I 'll buy this magazine and I 'll find out.

wow, i'm looking forward to that scene! what i heard was that they'd make the deathly hallows film two films, two parts i mean! that's so cool because they can stick to the book more precisely!

iloverupert: oh, that'd be so cool for you if the trio would come to greece! i haven't heard about it though, so i don't know if it's just a rumour! i hope not! wow, you could meet them!

I think this film 'll be the best.
Well, I read in a magazine that the harry potter trio is going to come to Greece.
Is that rumours or not?
