Happy Birthday, Ron Weasley!
Only in the Harry Potter fandom do we believe in celebrating a fictional character's birthday! March 1st marks a very special birthday for Ron Weasley, the affable character millions have enjoyed reading about for the past decade and who is so wonderfully portrayed by Rupert on the big screen. As was pointed out to us in the forums, today would technically be Ron's 30th birthday!
In celebration of Ron's birthday, the WB Shop is having a sale on all Harry Potter merchandise for the entire week! All items are 20% off and orders of $60 or more are eligible for free shipping. Now's the time to stock up on all the Ron Weasley merchandise you've been eager to get your hands on since this summer! Might we suggest the infamous Sweetheart necklace?

RupertGrint.Net Stands Up To Bullying!
We've been talking about it for a long time, but today is finally the day: International Stand Up to Bullying Day.
Last summer, we asked the Grint family what charities we should support for (at the time) Rupert's birthday project. We collaborated on collecting a short-list containing a few, and they then initially chose The Teenage Cancer Trust. This year, we're dedicating our whole year to supporting another charity mentioned: Beatbullying.
RupertGrint.Net chose Beatbullying because we don't know a single person who hasn't been bullied (if you've never been bullied, we'll have whatever you're having). We all have memories of the bullies would made us miserable when we were young and now we're putting our foot down!
Whether you donate a small or large amount, that money will go straight to helping children overcome the bullies taking all the fun out of their childhood. If we're able to help just one person deal with a terrible issue through our efforts, isn't that enough? Let's do all we can!
Keep talking about it with us on Twitter or our forums!

Deathly Hallows Epilogue Will Be Final Scene Shot for Rupert Grint And HP Cast
Tom Felton confirmed in a new interview with MTV Movie News that the epilogue of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows will in fact be the final scene shot with Rupert Grint, Dan Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Bonnie Wright, and Felton himself. Rather than going with older actors, the five young original actors will be aged up to look 20 years older than their characters are at the end of the Battle of Horwarts.
Says Tom:
"Jamie Christopher, the first [assistant director], was always really keen to do that as the final scene, because it's such a poignant moment for the franchise, that fact that it's 19 years on, and we get to see what happened to the characters. I confess we haven't shot that yet, but we are all extremely excited to do so."
No doubt the emotional impact of those last shots of Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, and yes, even ol' Draco himself will carry forward to real life as the young cast close the book on the final chapter of the Harry Potter movie series. At last word, filming on the final installment, Deathly Hallows Pt. 2, is scheduled to wrap in late spring, less than four months away.
Thanks to Snitch Seeker for the news.

Rupert Grint Donates Artistic Talent To Keech Hospice Care
Yet another reason to love Rupert Grint. Rupert is utilizing another one of his many talents, this time in painting, to help a great cause. Rupert is listed as one of several celebrities who have donated a butterfly painting to the Chrysalis Collection, to be auctioned off to help raise funds for Keech Hospice Care.
The paintings will be on display at Stockwood Discovery Centre in Luton from March 1st thru the 29th, with the auction to take place on eBay from March 19 - 28. Keech Hospice Care is a charity and facilities which help provide palliative care for terminally ill patients and support for their families. You can read more about the Chrysalis Collection and Keech Hospice care here.
Over 40 celebrities in all have contributed, including members of the band Coldplay. We're looking forward to seeing Rupert's contribution, and as ever, are proud of him for once again lending his time and his effort to a very worthy charity. Thanks to Suzeeq for finding the information.
