Harry Potter vs. Twilight: Vote for Team Ron!
You know what the world needs? Another Harry Potter vs. Twilight news post. Seriously, we don't have enough of these (dripping sarcasm ends here).
In yet another inexplicable comparison of the two franchises which share little more in common than that their respective authors both lack a Y-chromosome, E! Online has decided to pit Twilight's Jacob Black against Harry Potter's Ron Weasley. They've set up a poll to ask readers who they think is a better best friend--the werewolf who will 'imprint' on your baby, or the guy who will follow you into a den of giant spiders and murderous Death Eaters to help you save the world. Yeah, tough choice, I know. Go here to vote Team Ron!
While you're in the voting mood, the good people at Harry Potter Alliance have asked us to help get the word out that they are involved in the Chase Community Giving competition, and they need your help to win. In case you're unfamiliar, the Harry Potter Alliance is a charitable organization which has helped many great causes, including their Accio Books book drives and raising $123,000 in relief for Haiti. They've managed to do some amazing things with little funding, but if they get enough votes, they could win $250,000 to continue their great work helping others.
To vote, click here, press the green “Get started to vote” button, hit “Like," and then press “Vote now.” Encourage your friends and other fans to vote too! Thanks to Cheryl at HPA for letting us know about this competition.
And finally, a reminder that tonight begins ABC Family's Harry Potter Weekend with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. There are supposed to be new cast interviews and a Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows sneak peek during the broadcasts of all the films up to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix on Sunday night (repeats Monday). Check your local listings or see ABC Family's schedule here.

Just upload a picture of you and your best mate on their Wall and tag yourselves in the pictures - they will then pick the best picture!
UPDATE: We have added HQ images of Rupert Grint at last weekend's Barclaycard Wireless Festival to our gallery here--some new, including a look at the back of that great Arthur Kane t-shirt.
UPDATE 2: many thanks to our friends at Snitchseeker, for linking us to this first picture of Rupert at the Top Gear track, where both he and Rubens Barrichello filmed a lap in the Reasonably Priced Car, for this Sunday's episode.

Rupert Grint attends Barclaycard Wireless Festival
After a very long shoot for Harry Potter, Rupert Grint mentioned he'd be taking a well deserved break and enjoying the music festival scene this summer. First up - Barclaycard Wireless Festival in Hyde Park, London!
Rupert was spotted hanging around the VIP section today during the festival's final day. Acts who performed included Jay-Z, Lily Allen, Friendly Fires and Slash.
Check out some early photos here in the gallery!
UPDATE: We have two new pictures of Rupert at the festival, this time sporting sunglasses. Head to our galleries here for this rare sight.
UPDATE 2: The Sun has a quote from Rupert reportedly taken at the festival about his immediate post-Potter plans. Hint: If your sport of choice is Rupert-spotting, stock up on sunblock and earplugs--
"I want to take some time to think about what I'm doing next. I'm not into rap but I thought I'd give Jay-Z a go. I'm more into rock so I've got tickets for Reading and V Festival later in the year."
UPDATE 3: By the way, if you're interested in getting your hands on a t-shirt like the one Rupert is rocking in these pics, we've tracked down the source. Check out RupertStyle to find out where you can get your own (providing you have $130 lying around).

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Teaser Poster is Here
The poster for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is now available! Thanks to Warner Bros. for sending us this fantastic artwork for the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows teaser one-sheet. As you can see, it's a very dramatic image of our beloved Hogwarts castle under siege, its burning turrets reflecting in the Black Lake below, all under dark and ominous skies. A very simple tagline, "It All Ends Here," contributes to the emotional feeling of this poster, at once chilling and heartbreaking in it's sense of finality.
It's enough to put a lump in any Harry Potter fan's throat, and if you're anything like me, you're torn between anticipation for the final films and a sense of grief that it's all coming to an end.
The beginning of the end is November 19, 2010 for Part 1, with Part 2 to follow on July 15, 2011.
Harry Potter forever! Long live The Boy Who Lived!

Rupertised! June 2010 Edition
Hey, gang! It's here, June's issue of Rupertised!, just under the wire and straight to your monitors.
It's been an insanely busy month for Rupert Grint, and by extension, a busy one for his fans trying to keep up, but we wouldn't have it any other way! There has been so much in the way of Rupert news, but two of the biggest were the UK release of Wild Target and of course the end of filming of the final Harry Potter installment--in particular, the famous (or infamous) epilogue.
So without further ado, here's what's in store in the June issue:
- Critics' and fans' thoughts on Wild Target: Did it hit the bulls-eye or did it miss the mark?
- Ron and Hermione: A look back at how everybody's favorite couple went from friends to lovers.
- An in depth profile of one of Rupert's favorite directors, Quentin Tarantino
- Fan of the Month and Redhead of the Month! And more!
We hope you enjoy this month's issue, and as always, if you have something you'd like to share with us, please leave your feedback in the comments or forums!

Rupert Grint on Scorsese's Radar?
The Sun has just published some interesting quotes from famed director Martin Scorsese. This article is sure to send the HP fandom in a tizzy! It certainly has for all of us RGN staffers as Scorsese singles out Rupert as someone he is interested in working with.
Scorsese is quoted saying, "I thought he was a great actor in the Harry Potter movies. In a lot of scenes, the boy stole the show."
He continues to compare Rupert's promise as an actor to Leonardo DiCaprio and even lists some interesting characters Rupert should try in the future, particularly playing a gangster. He says, "I would have no issues in casting him as a gangster, he is a very talented young man."
Indeed Mr. Scorsese, we could not agree more! Head over to this link to read the rest of the article. Comments (24) Added by Lorena June 30, 2010 (12:25AM)
