    Calling all people who Tweet!

Today (the 10th), we're hosting a special Retweet Day to continue spreading the word about the fundraiser for Rupert Grint's 21st birthday in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

How it works is simple: We've posted the following phrase on our Twitter account and hope you will do the same!

Please RT! Help support the Teenage Cancer Trust in honor of Rupert Grint’s birthday. http://bit.ly/pDUNx

Copy and paste the above phrase to your Twitter and encourage your followers to do the same! This can also apply to Facebook if you are not a Twitter user.

We cannot thank you all enough for your continued support and generosity! It's inspiring to know that every donation, no matter how big or small, can make a difference in these teen's lives.

UPDATE: A ginormous thank you to everyone who participated in this yesterday! It was definitely a big success - be sure to check our Twitter account for a message from the Teenage Cancer Trust!

    Examiner.com Discusses Cherrybomb

Terra King from Examiner.com has today posted an interesting article on the distribution troubles of Cherrybomb.

Branding it as "an Indie movie that needs to be seen", Terra says:

"In this time of economic hardship, it isn't only us normal folk who feel the pinch. The studios and distributors feel it as well.
There are some very good films out there, that won't get seen much due to money worries.
"Cherry Bomb" starring Rupert Grint is just one such film...

Fans are passing around petitions on the net in a grassroots effort to get the film a distribution deal. This could actually work. If a distributor sees a built in audience, the film could get picked up. However, Robert Pattinson's "How to Be", has shown at many festivals, with most showings sold out. It went to VOD with the IFC network and is now going to DVD, "ASAP" according to the official website. If a Pattinson film can't get picked up......
If you are interested in signing the petition go to www.cherrybombpetition.com."

Though the film has been sold out at most of the locations where screened (including a full theatre for a London distribution screening), there has still been no new word from TLFC on a potential release for the film.

If you haven't signed the petitions yet, we would urge you to do so now. This CAN work!

Continuing Updates on Rupert Grint's 21st Birthday Fundraiser

There have been a lot of changes and developments since we announced the 21st Birthday Fundraiser (only yesterday!) in support of the Teenage Cancer Trust. And it's all down to what you guys are making possible!

The first, and perhaps most important point, is that we have changed our target amount from £1,000 to £4,000 after nearly reaching our goal in one day! Which is more fantastic than we can possibly put into words here - and who doesn't love a little challenge??

We've also whipped up a mini subsite containing all the information you could need about this fund raiser and the Teenage Cancer Trust. Want fund raising ideas, support graphics, AND EVEN competitions? You got it! The subsite is also the place where your fund raising stories - aka the heart of our campaign - will feature. So take a look!

Note: Want to take part in our competitions? Be sure to check off the option on the Just Giving website that allows us to see your contact information and/or write to us with your e-mail address and full name.

Remember: Every. Donation. Counts. No matter how big or small; we, Rupert and his family and the wonderful team over at TCT cannot tell you how much we have been overwhelmed and inspired by everyone's generosity so far. We are so, so, so excited at the prospect of how much you can raise for this cause and how many people you are helping. Because it's not us doing the work or making the difference here: it's you.

    Rupert Grint's 21st Birthday Fundraiser!

This year we’ve decided to do things a little differently.

Each year we ask you guys, the fans, to contribute towards our latest “gift” to Rupert – whether it be converse shoelaces, Spongebob themed memorabilia or ice cream ideas.

But for his 21st birthday we wanted to do something big, so we put our heads together and brainstormed. At every turn we encountered the same problem: what to get the man who has everything? It had to be special.

And then we had it. There’s probably nothing that Rupert would love more than to have his fans helping others.

We set out, looking up a list of charities that Rupert has supported in the past and spent time conferring with the Grint family to see which cause would be most suitable.

The one which immediately stood out was the Teenage Cancer Trust and it is that which Rupert and his family have asked us to support here.

Every day in the UK, up to 6 teenagers or young adults (between the ages of 13 and 24) will find out they have cancer that is approximately 2,100 new cases a year. These young people, in the midst of their already difficult journey to adulthood, suddenly find themselves faced with a possible life-threatening illness and very often receiving treatment in inappropriate facilities with inadequate support options.

Teenage Cancer Trust grew by chance, out of the eagerness of a group of women to organise a fashion show to fund a children's intensive care heart unit at Guy's Hospital, London. The fashion show was a resounding success and the women, high on the adrenalin of triumph, were ready to take on the world. Little did they know - they had!… The women went on to raise funds to build the very first TCT unit at the Middlesex Hospital in London in 1990.

To find out more about this wonderful cause, click here.

So, what we are asking you to do this year, is donate your time and resources towards this charity in honour of Rupert.

We have set up a page on the Just Giving website, where you can donate directly or plan activities to fund raise (such as sponsored walks or silences, bake or yard sales...anything you can think of!). Whatever way you can help, you're changing many young people's lives by doing so.

Please remember, every donation counts. Whether it be £1/$1 or 100 - the gift is in the giving. Let's see just how much we can raise!

N.B: If you are thinking of doing a sponsored event; get in touch! We'd love to feature you within this birthday project for Rupert, telling your story and showing him pictures of your day!!

Update: They say it's best to lead by example; in which case we can only thank the Grint family for their generous donation and absolute support of this project - we're speechless. And gobsmacked. Now guys, come on! We're half way there already...let's show what we can do!!

Update #2: Not even 24 hours later and we're already at 85% of the total. As our tweet says, we're completely overwhelmed by the generosity you're all showing and send out the biggest thank you to everyone who has contributed or will contribute. Your kindness begs the question: how much can we raise?!

The Fan Corner: New Art, Wallpaper, and more!

Within the past couple of weeks, we have created and updated several of our site pages that thrive off of fan submissions. Most notably have been the fan reviews for Half-Blood Prince taken from our Twitter! A 140 character film review? You bet! Check out the latest on what fans are saying here.

We've also received some great pieces of Fan Art from Kelly and Jeannette, and we continue to inch closer to our goal of 101 Reasons why we're Rupert Grint fans! Not to mention, Natalia has also donated this great wallpaper for our Graphics subsite.

A reminder that this is the final week to participate in our Harry Potter 6 Fan Project. We've received photos from the US, Thailand, Portugal, Brazil, and more! Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far!

Finally, in the past couple of hours, our Twitter page has surpassed 4,000 followers. WOW! We can't thank everyone enough for their continued support of the site and, most importantly, Rupert's career!
