    Buy Ron's Letter, Gallery Updates

Thanks to Daphne for writing in and letting us know that props from the first Harry Potter film, the Philosopher's Stone, are available for purchase via Screenused.com.

Of interest to us, of course, is a "letter" received by Ron during one of the Great Hall scenes (not the Howler!). The letter is for sale at a whopping $1,499 and consists of "4 pieces of mail that are tied with string. Each piece of mail has his name and the Hogwarts address hand written on them. Each envelope has remnants of a wax seal on the back."
More information can be found here.

Some great and original pieces of fan art have been added to the gallery courtesy of Steeph and Theresa.
Hannah has also sent in two images from Sweden. The first image is from the Chamber of Secrets DVD Launch when a Swedish family had the opportunity to meet several of the cast members.
The second image is from this past summer when a fan won a competition and attended the Order of the Phoenix premiere in London!

Updated! New Video: Rupert filming HBP!

Many thanks to HBP Movie Pics and Vivisco at LiveJournal for letting us know about this new video showing a short clip (and we mean short!) of Rupert at the Gloucester Cathedral set for HBP. A short interview with Daniel Radcliffe is also featured.

Please click here to download (right click and save-as!).

Update: As was predicted, the Daily 10 on E! did in fact air more footage from the set of Half-Blood Prince. They speak with Rupert for a disappointingly briefly amount of time, and even show a bit of filming taking place! Video below...

It's Official! 'Deathly Hallows' To be Two Films

With a more proper announcement expected tomorrow, the LA Times has broken the story that Warner Brothers and the producers of the Harry Potter franchise have decided to split the final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows into two movies!

Deathly Hallows: Part 1 will be released in November 2010, with Part 2 following about six months later with a May 2011 release date. It has also been confirmed that David Yates (OotP and HBP) will return to direct these final two movies, and they will be filmed concurrently.

Thanks to Leaky for the news!

Rupert Auctions Jacket on Ebay for Charity! (UPDATED)

Many thanks to Vanessa from Sense.org for letting us know that Rupert has very kindly donated a jacket to the charity, which is currently being auctioned on Ebay!

This jacket was worn by Rupert at both the Goblet of Fire, New York Premiere and at the 2006 NME Awards Show!

Sense is a national charity that has supported and campaigned for children and adults who are deafblind for over 50 years. We provide specialist information, advice and services to deafblind people, their families, carers and the professionals who work with them. We run services across England, Wales and Northern Ireland and employ 2,000 people most of whom work in services directly with deafblind people. Our patron is HRH The Princess Royal. Visit www.sense.org.uk

UPDATE: After receiving a tip from LisaUK, Sense has confirmed that the auction for Rupert's jacket (as well as the jacket for Emma's t-shirt and waistcoat) were voided. It turns out that the auction's highest bid came from an account that had been hacked into just before the bidding ended.

Snitchseeker spoke with Jane Arnell, Sense's director of fundraising, who told them:

"We are absolutely appalled this crime has taken place. These vital funds could have been spent on much needed holidays for five deafblind children. Second time around potential bidders will be asked to provide a form of upfront identification to be pre-approved. It’s a simple procedure and we hope it doesn’t stop people from bidding again."

The jacket is now up for re-auction, with the starting bid at £19.99. The listing for this item can now be found here! Bidding ends on March 21st.

Speaking of which, in celebratation of Ron's birthday (although we're not sure whether this was intentional or not!), ABC Family will be playing the first two Harry Potter films back-to-back! Check out the showtimes below:

Fan Art, Rupert on MSN 'Notable' List

We've added some amazing fan art to the gallery. Check them out below!
Rupert Portrait, by Carlotta | Hermione, Ron, & Lavendar, by Lilly

Thanks also goes out to Lilo for linking us to msn's notable redheads gallery which Rupert has earned a spot on. The site says:
"Harry Potter star Rupert Grint is sexy. Don't think so? Well, neither did we until we carried out an internet search to see whether he talks about his defining red hair much, and all we could find was breathless teenagers banging on about 'hot' they find Rupe's fiery red mop-top. And of course, it made him perfect for the role of Ron from the gloriously redheaded Weasley family."

    Rare Images from 'Thunderpants' (repost)

These images could probably be classified under "embarrasing baby pictures," but we couldn't resist! *cue cheek pinching*

We've been able to recover 14 promotional images from Thunderpants that were originally found in R-G.co.uk's gallery before it merged with RG.net. We understand news has been a bit slow lately, and hope this helps things be a bit more bearable!

These pictures are from the Thunderpants DVD (UK edition, we're assuming). For those who are unfamiliar with Thunderpants, it was Rupert's first film outside of Harry Potter and was originally released in 2002. You can watch the film's trailer here!

    New Scene Added to HBP!

Many thanks to Snitchseeker for letting us know that a new scene involving The Burrow has been written especially for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.

In an interview with the Australian Herald Sun, the film's producer David Barron has said:

"This was brought in because Jo (Rowling) was able throughout the quite lengthy book to keep dropping little snippets of what was happening in the outside world - there'd be people reading newspapers and talking about how somebody's parents had been killed, or somebody had been withdrawn from school because their parents didn't think it was safe.

And we're making aware that that the Muggle world is also experiencing these disasters, but thinks they are disasters rather than the work of Voldemort.

The book is peppered with those moments, but we couldn't do that quite so easily in the film.

So (the extra scene) comes in the middle of the film and it just reminds us the world is no longer a safe place. Even in what would normally be considered the safe haven of the Burrows, nobody's safe.

I think you'll like it. It's quite effective."

Hopefully this will mean even more screen time for Rupert!
