Builds Studio’s Global Strategy To Increase 3D Slate This Year and Going Forward

Upcoming 3D Titles Include “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1”

(February 2, 2010 – Burbank, California) Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced today that the upcoming feature film “Clash of the Titans” will be released in 3D worldwide on April 2, 2010. The film will simultaneously be released in 2D.

In making the announcement, Dan Fellman, President, Domestic Distribution, Warner Bros. Pictures, said, “We are experienced and have been successful in the conversion of 2D to 3D going back to such hits as ‘The Polar Express,’ select scenes in ‘Superman Returns’ and the last two Harry Potter films.”

Fellman continued, “We are confident in the constantly evolving 3D technology, and the results for ‘Clash of the Titans’ will be presented onscreen with the highest-quality images available today. Based on our track record, we know that audiences are embracing the RealD and IMAX experiences, and we see many opportunities on our film slate to provide moviegoers with these great options at the multiplex.”

Jeff Robinov, President, Warner Bros. Picture Group, said, “We’re excited about 3D and look forward to bringing a rich, involving visual experience to audiences around the world.”

Additional titles on Warner Bros. Pictures’ 2010 film slate that will be released in 3D (in addition to 2D) include “Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore” (July), “Guardians of Ga’Hoole” (September) and “Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows, Part 1” (November).

While the books were released late in the 90’s, the film franchise took off immediately after the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone . Eight years later and we’re now counting down the days until the epic grand finale that will be Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. As fans, a majority of us have grown up with this series: the books, the films, and even the actors. So while the next decade will bring with it the final Potter film, it will also see the re-release of the earlier films on DVD and Blu-Ray in the ULTIMATE EDITION package.

Harry Potter: Ultimate Editions is the real deal: four discs of anything Harry Potter you could dream of. In both collections, disc one includes the original film as seen in theatres. Disc two is a special extended edition with deleted scenes reinserted into the film (which I don’t feel is particularly necessary). Disc three contains the original bonus features that were included in the first DVD release of the films. Unfortunately, these discs retain the old browsing interface from previous releases which – let’s face it – is pretty outdated and not the easiest to navigate. A facelift could have been beneficial.

Disc Four, though, is the real goldmine for Potter fans. Each Ultimate Edition of the films will feature a chapter in what can only be described as one long documentary entitled Creating the World of Harry Potter. Also included are the complete screen tests for Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson (in the Chamber of Secrets set) and original trailers and TV spots. An accompanying mini book with concept art and image stills is included in the Ultimate Editions set as are two collector character cards. The photobook is great and the concept art is stunning, but there’s a big possibility the character cards may be misplaced and honestly, they wouldn’t be missed.

On disc four of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone , the first chapter naturally begins with Part 1: The Magic Begins. Fans are taken on the journey from the very beginning when producer David Heyman secured the rights to the Potter books up until the film’s big premiere. This hour long feature documents the entire shooting schedule for the first film including the very first day on set. There seems to be a general consensus amongst the cast and crew that they were terrified on that big day!

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets picks up with Part 2: Characters. The principal actors read sections from when their characters are first introduced in the novels and much is discussed about bringing these characters to life. We’re talking nearly every major character in films one through six! Evanna Lynch and Jessie Cave’s screen tests are featured as is a touching tribute to the late Richard Harris (Dumbledore).

Both documentaries make use of interviews from the past and present where old footage is clearly identified with a special set of borders around the video. The wealth of information and footage presented is what fans have been waiting years for – it’s no secret that one of the biggest complaints about the previous DVD releases have been the lack of bonus features. When all is said and done, though, these DVDs make us we feel as if we’ve been there all along with them on this journey.

 Original Link

QUESTION: Word is that in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince there is plenty of Quidditch for Ron this time round?

RUPERT GRINT: Yeah, I've never done Quidditch in the films before so this is my first Quidditch experience. Dan says it's really painful and I know where he's coming from because it's quite uncomfortable, with the harness and stuff, and you're getting slung about. There are two stages. One is the try-outs where Ron is not very good and keeps getting hit in the face. Another stage is where Ron takes the potion and thinks he is really, really good. It's quite tricky but I've really enjoyed it. I'm always on a wire because the broom is quite high up, about 18 feet.

QUESTION: You are in great shape but are you naturally athletic?

RUPERT GRINT: Not really. The only sport I do is a bit of golf, really. Apart from that, I'm lazy so I've had to do a bit of training.

QUESTION: Was getting into the flow of things for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince almost like coming back to school?

RUPERT GRINT: Each film is a little bit different, but it is a lot like coming back to school. It's the same people you've worked with and we're never away that long anyway. It's easy to get back into the routine.

QUESTION: Do you keep in touch with rest of the cast between films?

RUPERT GRINT: I usually try to, but we're always quite busy, to be honest. I see the twins quite a bit, because I play golf with them. I usually win. I'm not bad and I have a handicap of 12.

QUESTION: Word is that there is going to be a lot of kissing in this movie?

RUPERT GRINT: Yeah, and Ron gets a girlfriend in this one. When we did the kissing sequence, it wasn't easy because I'm standing on a plinth and the whole room is watching. It was quite embarrassing and I was actually dreading it. It was weird and the girl who plays my girlfriend is really cool. It was fine after the first 10 takes. [Laughs.]

QUESTION: Did you get the last book sent to you?

RUPERT GRINT: I didn't get it any earlier than anyone else. I got it the day it came out and was quite keen to see what happened, especially since there was so much hype about it. I was quite happy with the ending.

QUESTION: Since the Harry Potter films have been such a huge part of your life it must seem strange that it's all going to come to an end soon?

RUPERT GRINT: Sure. It's quite sad because it's been a massive part of my life. It's hard to get my head around something that will have taken up 10 years of my life when it's finished.

QUESTION: How do you feel when for instance you catch the early Harry Potter films on TV?

RUPERT GRINT: I haven't watched the films all the way through for ages but I've seen bits and pieces on Sky. It feels like a different person, to be honest; it feels like it all happened ages ago. It brings back a lot of good memories because it was all a good life and it brings back all those exciting times to me. I had barely done a school play before I started so it was very scary in those early films. I never thought of it as a serious thing. It was all just fun for me back then.

QUESTION: Do you think that you ever get used to all the attention that comes with the phenomenal success of the films?

RUPERT GRINT: I've gradually got used to it over the years. It's more apparent when the films come out. It's strange when people come up to you. People are always really nice though. It's never really gangs of people; it's usually one or two who come over. I don't mind that at all. Once, I was in TGI Friday and a guy with a camera happened to be there. That was the only time I had any paparazzi, as such.

QUESTION: Do you ever get called Ron?

RUPERT GRINT: People always call me Ron, especially the younger kids. My little cousins actually think I'm magic.

QUESTION: What's the one thing you've most enjoyed that the Harry Potter films have brought you?

RUPERT GRINT: The chance to travel, especially that trip we made to Japan. It was a really different, a really cool experience.

QUESTION: Aren’t there loads of Harry Potter fans in Japan?

RUPERT GRINT: Yeah. I get a lot of gifts from Japan, especially pyjamas, but they're very cool. We had to learn a few words in Japanese but I can't remember them. I'm not very good at languages. It was embarrassing when we went to Paris because Emma is very good at French and I was stumbling over my few words.

QUESTION: Does being a movie star help overcome shyness?

RUPERT GRINT: I've always been a bit shy, but I do feel more confident now, yeah.

QUESTION: After the eighth Harry Potter film is done, do you want to carry on acting?

RUPERT GRINT: I'd like to because I really enjoy it. When this is over I'll see what happens. I enjoyed working on small movies like Driving Lessons, so maybe more stuff like that would be nice.

QUESTION: When you are not on camera, how do you guys unwind?

RUPERT GRINT: Table tennis is a big thing; me and Dan are getting very good at it. I have a table in my dressing room and we play every day. It's quite even because Dan has improved a lot. He has a really good serve. We're at a professional level now. [Laughs.]

 QUESTION: And what about Emma?

RUPERT GRINT: She's at a different level to us so there's no point in playing with her. She just embarrasses us.

QUESTION: Was there ever any remote chance that you wouldn't come back for this sixth Harry Potter film?

RUPERT GRINT: For me, there was no doubt. So long as they wanted me, I was coming back to do it. I really enjoy doing this and it's really cool.

Official Harry Potter Exhibition

The way they have it set up, tickets are purchased for a certain time, you get in line with the people at your time and are let in by group every eight minutes or so. If you're late you can go with the next group. There is no food, drink, bathrooms or photography. Once you leave the exhibit you can't go back in without buying tickets for a new time, and they're sold out for days to come. So, I made the family pee before we got in line. I got "whatever Mom" looks for this, but damned if I was leaving the Exhibit before I was good and ready, no matter how badly they had to pee. I find this completely reasonable.

The Exhibit is in a tent outside the old main entrance to the museum. This happied me because I couldn't think of where they'd put it inside and have proper space. I was going to die if it didn't seem like there was enough.

The new entrance to the museum is underground at the bottom of the parking garage, and the Ford Anglia is on display. This was the only thing I could take pictures of, since photography is strictly forbidden. I was going to try for pics with the camera in my phone, but security was everywhere and I'd have died if I'd been thrown out before I saw eveything there was to see.

While in line a lovely British man was checking times on tickets and asking questions and generally being cute. When we first got there we were waiting with the people who were in the time slot before us and he told us we weren't starting for nine minutes and could walk around for a bit. I told him I'd waited in line for way longer than nine minutes for Harry Potter and I was happy to stand there. He laughed and poked fun at the Muppet on Girl 2's sweatshirt. I probably shouldn't have let her wear it, but I wasn't thinking about it in my rush to be early.

There's a long tent hallway thinger, and at the bottom a room with another lovely British lad, and the Sorting Hat sitting on a stool in front of a stained glass window. He asked for a volunteer, and a little guy of about eight was chosen, hoped for Gryffindor and was sorted into Hufflepuff. The voice of the Sorting Hat and what it said was straight from Socerer's Stone, and this happied me again. Then a girl of about 10 from my town of all places was chosen, and she was also sorted into to Hufflepuff. Very cute and fun and everyone in the group was laughing and happy.

The doors to my right opened up and we were ushered into a roundish dark round room with movie posters lit up along one side. It reminded me of the room at the Department of Mysteries. I looked around to see where the doors were that opened into the Exhibit to make sure I was standing by them when music started and I dug into my purse to answer my phone, and realized that the movie posters had been replaced with clips from all the movies, and the first one was Ron and Harry meeting on the train, and Ron saying, "I'm Ron, Ron Weasley." I did a huge SQUEE and Hubby shushed me and I elbowed him and the clips rolled through very quickly and I'd have to see it a few more times to get everything.

We were ushered a bit to quickly for my liking past the Hogwarts Express and into the Exhibit itself. There were moving framed portraits on the walls and the Fat Lady trying to break a wine glass with her voice and failing and then we were in the Gryffindor common room.

There was a video playing on the left that seemed to be Hermione's greatest hits, such was "Windardium Levi-O-sa" and her grabbing Ron's hand when they meet Buckbeak. After that is a display that includes the common room notice board, Hermione's wand, the DA list, her timeturner, and a Do It Yourself Broom Care kit, Hermione's her school uniform and the jeans and corduroy jacket.

Then I got distracted by my husband saying something and looked across the aisle and it was Ron and Harry's beds from their dormitory and I was mentally flailing and trying to control the urge to bounce. First there's Ron's trunk, which holds "Flying with the Cannons", his spell-o-taped wand, "Quidditch Teams of England and Ireland" the Howler from Molly, a Chudley Cannons shirt and a copy of Witch Weekly.

Ron's bed has the lovely hand-made blanket on it!! It has the curtains!!! He told Harry to piss off while pulling that blanket over his shoulder!!! Next to his bed was his Hogwarts Uniform and on the table behind it some Honeyduke's odds and ends, a crystal ball and Chudley fan stuff.

Between the beds is the Golden Egg from GoF on a stand. It's pretty beaten up really, but Harry was holding it when he made up with his boy, so that's was important, right?

On Harry's table is just some broom polish. There's also his Hogwarts uniform and in his trunk his wand, the Marauder's Map, the Hogwart's letter addressed to the Cupboard Under the Stairs, the love potion chocolates and the photo album from Hagrid.

Then there's the video thinger playing and it has Harry and Ron flying the car, then a rude woman moved in front of me and I decided to come back and watch it later, which I never did. *head desk*

Then there are Neville's things, including his uniform, the Mimbulus Mimbletonia, a pruning kit, a copy of the Quibbler, a copy of the Profit with the flying Ford Anglia, a bottle of pumpkin juice and Neville's wand. Next to Neville's stuff is Ginny's school uniform. I was shunted along by the crowd and didn't really see much else of Ginny.

I noticed wondering looks from security when I was leaving the common room. I guess no one warned them that crazy fandom people would come a long and take notes. You'd think they'd know that about us. :D

Then we moved into the classroom section, which started with Potions, and had the cauldron from HPB Slughorn brewed the Felix Felices, a box of Bezoars, Slughorn's and Snape's wands, copies of "Potion Making" and "Magical Drafts and Potions" books and Snape's and Slughorn's robes.

Lockhart's class was next, and had his dueling robes, pictures of himself, his regular robes, a Cornish Pixie and a huge portrait of himself painting a portrait of himself. In a case were more pictures of himself, his wand and the questionnaire from his first lesson. In another case were copies of all his books.

Professor Lupin's area had his wand, a copy of "Dark Forces - A Guide to Self-Protection", his robes, the wardrobe the boggart came out of and the giant Jack in the Box.

In Umbridge's office, the stones are painted pink, there is the detention desk with her special quill, her wand, that horridly perfect pink suit, her tea cup, a copy of "Defense Against the Dark Arts for Beginners", pink drapes around the window and the kitty plates.

Trelawney's room had her robes with all the shawls, a crystal ball, a copy of "Unfogging the Future", her thick glasses and a tea cup with the leaves still in it. I looked for the grim but couldn't see it.

The last professor's area was Sprout's, and it included her robes with the earmuffs from the mandrake lesson, and mandrakes that can be pulled up and they squeel! Some of them were really high pitched. We all pulled one up and had a laugh with the girl who was encouraging everyone to come have a go.

Around the next corner was Buckbeak in the pumpkin patch with Harry, Hermione and Ron's filthy clothes from the end of PoA. They're so ICKLE!!!

Then it's into Hagrid's Hut, which has Hagrid's clothes which are HUGE, cages hanging from the ceiling, Norbert's Egg hatching on the table, his chair, and you're welcome to sit in it, which Girl 2 and I did. It's very large and equally uncomfortable. In a case are his pink umbrella, a copy of "The Monster Book of Monsters" and the lantern he carries when he gets the first years from the Hogwarts Express.

Then it's a very cute Quidditch area, which starts with Draco, Cedric and Oliver Wood's robes, a game where you can throw Quaffles through hoops (it's harder than I thought), the World Cup, Harry's Nimbus 2000 and Draco's Nimbus 2001 a Snitch and other Quidditch equipment. I didn't look for Ron's gloves - *kicks self*

Then in a line it's Madam Hooch's robes, the Irish National Team robes, then Harry, Victor and Ron's robes. *sigh*

Next it's into the forbidden forest, and they have centaurs, a baby thestral, Aragog, who's just scary as hell, and the head of a Hungarian Horntail.

In the next room there's a display with a giant pawn and rook from Sorcerer's Stone (I was sad there was no knight), the Sorcerer's Stone, and one of the flying keys. Next to that are Harry's clothes from when he fought Quirrel/Voldemort for the Stone, a petrified Colin Creevey, Riddle's Diary with the basilisk fang in it, Tom Riddle's uniform from CoS, along with the scary Angel of Death statue that trapped Harry in GoF.

Then there's the "Wanted" posters of the escaped Death Eaters, Death Eater's robes, Voldemort's wand and robes.

Along the opposite wall are Draco and Lucius Malfoy's robes, a dementor coming out of the wall, Kreacher, a uniform from the prison, and Bellatrix's tatty robes. The lighting of the "dark" area is blue and moody and I thought well done.

Down another hallway are the framed "Decrees of Education", the Bloody Baron's robes and the doors to the Great Hall.

The Great Hall's not nearly as big I was hoping, but there are spaced restraints to be considered. Dammit. In the middle of the hall is a long table with prop foods and desserts, and table settings. To the right are Fudge's and Percy's robes, O.W.L.s and memos from the Ministry shaped into planes. The next case has items from Honeydukes, Skiving Snackboxes, a Quidditch Board game and all sorts of other stuff from Hogsmeade.

In the corner are Fred and George's robes, (*sniff*) and a video of scenes from the Great Hall. Then there's Fawkes, then where the teacher's table should be are McGonagall's robes from the Yule Ball, Dumbledore's robes from Chamber of Secrets, Dobby kind of hiding behind them, which unhappied Girl 2 who loves Dobby and a case with Dumbledore and McGonagall's wands.

Next are Sirius and Tonk's robes. On the other side of the hall is the Tri-Wizard Cup, Rita Skeeter's quill and notebooks and a Goblet of Fire entry slip. Then it's Cho and Cedric's robes from the Yule Ball, then Harry and Ron's in the middle of the display, then Victor's and Hermione's lavender dress.

The last was the casket that held the Goblet of Fire and Fleur, Victor and Cedric's uniforms.

Then it's out through the door at the other end, and down a hall with portraits applauding, then you're in the gift shop. Girl 1 got a "Harry Potter - The Exhibition t-shirt that she wore for the rest of our time in the museum and a Gryffindor key chain. Girl 2 got a Gryffindor scarf and hat, after which she wore the scarf. I got a DA t-shirt with the names of the DA down the back. Hubby and I really wanted Chudley Cannons t-shirt, but there were none to be had. :( The gift shop is WAY too small and doesn't allow for proper browsing.

WILL YOU HAVE ‘ RED ENVY ’?

In an unexpected career move, British actor Rupert Grint has decided to add “fashion designer” to his resume.

After receiving glowing reviews for his unique red carpet style from fashion critics and fans alike, Grint decided it was time to create his own line and allow others to emulate his style. “These are outfits that can be worn by anybody: actors on the red carpet, male teens, and my pet dog. Fangirls can also dress their boyfriends and have their very own Rupert! Maybe we should expand into hair-dye next…”

Beginning in January 2010, the clothing line – aptly titled Red Envy – will be available in select department stores across the UK. These will include Harrods, Selfridges, and Kistna Poos. The line will begin with t-shirts, blazers, and jeans. Due to early demand, there are already plans for expanding with scarves, footwear, and sombreros.

The inspiration behind the name for the line came from Grint’s own envious ginger-haired locks. “This hair got me the part of Ron Weasley,” he says. “It’s only fair I pay homage. Plus, it just sounds cool.”

Grint is currently filming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and says he hopes to juggle both his career as an actor and fashion designer. “If the Olsen twins can do it, why can’t I?”

Preview pieces of what the industry can expect have been released. They have already been described as “revolutionary” and “too good to be true” (oh, really? ).

The film is the debut of co-directors Glenn Leyburn and Lisa Barros D’Sa, and was written by Daragh Carville. Shot on location in Northern Ireland, it is the second picture from UK-based producers, Mark Huffam and Simon Bosanquet’s Generator Entertainment. CHERRYBOMB was produced in association with Northern Ireland Screen and with the participation of the Irish Film Board, and features a score by acclaimed Belfast-based Hollywood composer, David Holmes.
The experience of shooting CHERRYBOMB was a world away from the lavish sets and big budgets of Harry Potter. “I really enjoy it because it is a totally different world,” he says. “I think we do get a bit spoilt on Harry Potter. I really prefer the pace of these sorts of films – on this one you do maybe seven scenes a day – so it moves really quickly. It’s exciting.” The three leads quickly developed a rapport in an extensive period of early rehearsals,

The Independent

"BLAG is an extraordinary, diverse, well-designed, uncatagorisable publication with some notably strong images. It manages to be highbrow, lowbrow, edgy and cultured, all at the same time, with a strong centre of gravity. Clever."
Nicholas Coleridge, MD, Conde Nast

"BLAG magazine is brilliantly designed, lovingly conceived, and witty in its abstraction."

"Sarah and Sally are fantastic in their promotion and marketing of what is still a largely misunderstood genre of music and culture, hip hop. I definitely depend on them when I cross the Atlantic, as they cover a diverse and vast array of skill and contacts necessary for my organization. They cover the gamut and when it comes to the clarity the culture needs they give it that. Thus I will continue to support and still depend on them in whatever course they take their companies."

"A well put together glossy, the magazine has retained the fun voice of its origins."
The Guardian

Brands are always asking us to find a way to reach cool people. They may call them something like "cultural influencers" in the brief to us, but it amounts to the same thing. The idea that you can spike credible word of mouth about your product by getting it in the hands of those who start trends is one that holds credence. It’s what we do as an agency. BLAG are the cultural influencers you seek. All wrapped up in a dynamic media partner, event producers and style icons. In addition to the pureness of their brand and the influence of their publication, these ladies know how to activate an army of artists, creative’s, musicians, producers and scensters in general, all of whom are friends of BLAG and can be introduced to your brand. Momentum recommends going on a BLAG adventure. Turn yourself and your brand over to the sensibilities of Sarah and Sally, reach your audience in a very cool way and have a good time."
Jeff Stevens, Creative Director Momentum

"BLAG has become a favourite in our office and is on permanent display in our reception room"
Flaunt (USA)

"BLAG is my favourite international magazine / BLAG is smoother than a 66 blue coloured jag / BLAG never keeps me sad / BLAG is run by my two favourite hags / whom I’ll never shag....sigh / least I have BLAG.
Ahmir Thomson, The Roots

"Have you ever read BLAG magazine? You should, it's rather splendid. An ad-free magazine that feels as startling as a novel with the occasional colour spread... [The BLAG team] create editorial for you, weaving the brand into the magazine in a way that goes far beyond the typically lame advertorial... They select brands that make sense for the magazine and create brand content that'll work for their readership, making for a much more interesting overall product and never risking the kind of car-crash of editorial and advertising you get in so many magazines."
Russell Davies, Campaign

"Working with BLAG has been a true partnership helping PlayStation reconnect with the people who had identified with the brand at its birth... Re-capturing the spirit of innovation from the last decade and evolving a new language for the symbols."
